Pietrapertosa is a small village in the province of Potenza in Basilicata.

Voted among the most beautiful villages in Italy, it has the distinction of being nestled among the Lucanian Dolomites at about 1088 meters above sea level, a height that makes it the highest situated municipality in the Basilicata region.

The medieval village is built practically in the stone of the Lucanian dolomites and offers wonderful views and landscapes. There is also a Norman castle at the top of the village.
